If you can be and feel completely safe with your horse, if you can get co-operation from your horse, if you can have lovely peaceful happy feelings at a time of high natural instinct like feed time – then you have taken some very serious first steps at getting that co-operation anywhere.
You want that kind of happy co-operation under all kinds of circumstances – when you’re in the saddle, when you are out on the road or trail with others, at events away from home or just being safe riding around at home.
Who would think that feed time could be such an excellent place to prepare for success in all of those things?
