Love is everything
Learning to listen to your horse, deeply and connectedly is the greatest gift of love that you can give your four legged friend…
AND at the same time, learning this ONE SINGLE THING will make you brilliant with horses.
I was invited to present at an international horse event and needed to do a video to show our work here. So I advertised for a difficult or dangerous horse and a scared owner, trawled my way through dozens of applications and found Joe and Dawn. Joe was a wild horse, a small brumby who had been recently captured and was literally shaking with terror at EVERYTHING to do with humans and as gentle as Dawn was, she just hadn’t been able to make the breakthrough she was looking for with such a traumatized horse. We got a camera man and traveled 12 hours in one weekend and filmed Dawn and Joe having a lesson with me. It was two short sessions with a long break in between, that added up to just under an hour in total.
The result brings tears to my eyes even now – even after teaching thousands of people how to do this, it still moves me. This terrified and severely traumatized wild horse and his novice owner found the magic of Feel in under an hour. My heart smiles when people and horses find what I call “it”, the magic of connection and communication with a horse, the Feel that every good horse person has, the Feel that makes ALL of us really good with horses, that I PROMISE you, is inside every single one of us and that means you too! 🙂
The video footage was damaged by the sound of the wind, so when I edited I took the opportunity to explain what I had her doing and turned it into a lesson for YOU too, on Feel for your horse. One of those everything happens for a reason things!

The photo I’ve used for this page is one of Michelle J’s gorgeous compositions. This is Sebastion, one of the glorious wild stallions from the Kosciusko Mountains – featured on the Horse Wisdom Spinning Wheel – you’ll find those lovely horse wisdom messages on the sidebar, which is underneath this page if you’re on the phone.
