If you’re here at this page, then I expect you’ve done the magnetic riding seat seminar and you’re either intrigued or excited to get that super sucked into the saddle magnetic riding seat happening for you too. To achieve that, I help you get rid of the tensions and fears and sometimes even the old injuries associated with old falls from your horse and old accidents, that are getting in the way of a really good riding seat being effortless.
Advanced riders can also use this approach to perfect a movement
You’ve already seen (or heard lol!) that a riding lesson with me is kind of like super advanced sports psychology meets leading edge physical therapy, meets healing. But the magnetic riding seat isn’t the only thing that we can do. A similar approach makes it possible for the advanced rider to find even the tiny little tensions that are getting in the way of a perfect particular movement with their horse, to release those tensions and re-program the mind and body for ease in that movement – for example an effortless shoulder-in, a joyful piaffe or passage, a smooth flying change, a willing spin or a gliding sidepass. Whether it’s dressage or western, working cows or the comprehensive nature of happy togetherness out on the trail, all these things start with US – with no tension in US as we flow together in harmony with our horse. Gosh I get goosebumps when I think of how powerful and far reaching this is!
If you did the magnetic riding seat seminar, you’ll already know that the secret to my success is that I take people OFF their horse for at least some of their riding lessons, so that you can really focus on yourself and get things happening, before we bring your horse back into the equation. We release what is BEHIND you not being in the best riding position for you and your horse, so that your new riding seat is effortless.
Frights eventually cause us to lose our nerve
We talked on the seminar about what I call a fright imprint. When we fall off a horse, the fear that we feel as we’re falling or trying not to fall, gets kind of locked into our bodies with the bang as we hit the ground. The tension of these falls is cumulative – each new fall adds on to the tension of the old ones and it’s stuck there until you do something to release it. And that tension has you ON the saddle instead of IN it and I bet you all know how insecure that feels – specially when the crap hits the fan.
If we have enough of these falls and the fright imprints and tensions that go with them – even innocuous falls where we didn’t hurt anything but our pride and had a bit of a fright – then they can cost us our nerve. In fact, I’m prepared to stick my neck out and say that eventually IT WILL cost you your nerve. I’ve seen even the upper level of world class riders struggling with their confidence with this at the root cause.
In extreme cases, there’s this vicious circle of tension causing you to be less secure in the saddle, that makes falling off easier, that causes more tension and more falls and so on until you just don’t want to ride any more.
For some people who’ve been really injured in a big fright, it can even be a full on flash back PTSD experience.
The good news
The good news is that these fright imprints are releasable – even the PTSD version. You can re-gain your old confidence OR get a whole new level of confidence that you’ve never experienced before.
