Let’s pause at this “Some of this I’m going to struggle with” because we don’t want that mindset to become some kind of self fulfilling prophecy. If you’ve read “Holy shit is that really true?”, you’ll remember that we can’t just start talking differently, the cause of that thought is still in there mucking things up. So you’ll want to get to the bottom of what’s BEHIND that thought.
I got to that point a few days in when the restriction of food bored the crap out of me AND produced a resistance to allowing someone else to tell me what I could and couldn’t eat. Which was totally weird because by that point I’d dropped five years off my face and a dress size.
I had to pause and get curious and do a Quiet Mind on what was really going on here. When I came out of that, my food prep imagination was flying and I could see what I could adapt to our way of eating that would be tasty. I’m in the middle of doing a series of short pages about “if everything isn’t smooth sailing”. Not sure when that’ll be finished. Luckily you already have the tools to set that intention or do that Quiet Mind. You could also use the reiki grid meditation to give a Quiet Mind some structure if you wanted.

I sure as heck WOULD NOT be doing the reset feeling crappy about it – for WHATever reason. Something needs changing – whether it’s the reset itself or whether it’s just that there’s something for YOU to know or do first.
Do you feel resistance to the foods on the YES list?
Pay gentle attention to your outward breath and notice the way that the lower part of your lungs just gently and automatically squashes the air from your lungs.
Yeah do that noticing right now, while you’re reading. Noticing the OUTward breath and the movement of the ribs squashing the air out.
FEEL into the resistance, feel where it lives in your body and just get curious about what you’re body’s telling you – each time you think of it. Don’t worry about the answer, just the curiosity.

Curious about the brain to body connection itself. Is the inner you already telling you what you need reliably or is there something else to know or do? How does that “whole you” experience food? With joy? Or stress? If there’s any stress or tension there, get curious about each bit of THAT whenever you notice it. FEEL the stress with hat curiosity. Feel where it lives in your body and just get curious about what you’re body’s telling you – each time you think of it. Don’t worry about the answer, just the curiosity.

You’re adopting an investigative mind, noticing and getting curious about everything to do with your food and your body and your thoughts. Just like with our horse work, you’re open to the idea that not everything you feel will be yours and you’re curious about that too.
