He released all of that stress AND experienced profound healing of even the worst of his old injuries, by doing the next lesson with me many times.
The Lesson
Have you noticed yet that I like to do things the easy way? Long ago now, I made a commitment to myself that I didn’t want to struggle any more, that I wanted to do things the easy way – you’re getting the benefit of that in these lessons.
I have noticed that the easy way for people to achieve brilliant riding and brilliant horsemanship in general, is for them to make a genuine, all the way to their bones commitment to happiness with their horse.
If you make this commitment, it will have you clearing up every last little bit of tension and negativity around your horse and fast track self carriage for you and your horse.
And an excellent side effect of this is that you and your horse will enjoy a new level of happiness together.
Enjoy this Lesson about how we can avoid creating a negative relationship with our horse.

I have had some big insights over the last couple of weeks about how negative manifesting can be so SUBTLE and THAT has resulted in a new way of explaining something REALLY important about you and your horse.
When we live with a state of unaddressed, unlooked at or unresolved tension with our horses, then we are manifesting more of that, we are manifesting negatively.
When we are being with our horses outside of our and their comfort zones, we are manifesting more of that chronic tension – we are CREATING it. We are making it harder for ourselves than it needs to be. And I am all about making it possible to not struggle any more, to make it easy. To do life and horses so much more the easy way…
This insight is a compelling reason to get at every last little bit of tension or negativity around you and your horse. This insight is an even more compelling reason to pay attention to AND TAKE ACTION ON every little Not Quite Right – every little tiny feeling that is not happiness or peacefulness or excitement with your horse.
In clinics, I notice that people’s biggest and fastest breakthroughs come from a genuine, all the way to their bones commitment to happiness with their horse. And THAT is positive manifesting – manifesting more of that happiness with your horse – the whole process gains momentum – more and more happiness with your horse.
I rode Rapunzel yesterday for the first time. She belongs to a friend and is here to be with other people when it suits her and she was saying “pick me, pick me” when I went down to the paddock.
I had, to the millionth degree, created a state of Comfort Zone for Rapunzel about bringing her up from the paddock away from her mates. I had worked on her feeling either peaceful or curious about walking past all the weird things that she hasn’t seen before on the way to the arena. I had introduced her to all the horses waiting in the arena for the playday we were having. We had approached and retreated and waited for The Chew about all of that – plus the toys in the arena that she had never seen.
I had got her to keep her attention on me softly when she was over focussed on something going on in the distance in this strange new place.
I had done all the right things… and it was all going so beautifully that I decided to sit on her back.
And immediately I went into a tiny state of tension when she walked off.
And what’s worse, I stayed there, perpetuating that tension, manifesting more of it – negatively manifesting.
Duh! If I didn’t understand straight away, what I had to to know or do to change and release that tension, then I should have got off and stood back in a Quiet Mind and figured out what I had to know or do about that tension.
Do you understand what I did? In that moment that I stayed on Rapunzel’s back in that slight state of tension I manifested more of that tension.
And I risked Rapunzel and I escalating each other into maybe her shying at something a bit scarey or maybe her moving faster because she was unbalanced. And she was unbalanced because she was not in her Comfort Zone.
And then I couldn’t think so clearly and easily about how to resolve it because I was stuck in the tension.
There were all kinds of possible answers but when I crossed that line into NOT doing something about it, not having deeply committed enough to myself for that happiness – then I manifested more of that tension. Darn it, I am going out today to bring her up again and fix that!
It could be that I needed to do some of the extreme mounting that I am going to get you to do later in the course with your horses.
It could be that there was something to know or do or release and one of those possibilities is about releasing an old fright imprint from a fall.
THAT’S why I have brought this next lesson into the online course. I have seen how huge an effect releasing fright imprints has on releasing tension in the people I do this work with personally and the HUGE impact of that change of energy has on the horses too.
Fright imprints from old falls from your horse, are part of the tension that you carry in your body when you go out to your horse. It’s that tension that some of you have been having so much trouble getting rid of. And THAT tension is negative manifesting just the same as the tension I had on Rapunzel. And if you have a fright imprint anywhere, it will be part of what is blocking you from a deeper and more consistent feeling of happiness with your horse.
When we fall off our horse in such a way that we get a bang or a blow to our body when we are in a state of fear, then that fright is imprinted, it’s kind of stuck there. That state of tension is stuck there until we understand what we need to know or do about it and release it.
And the good news is that it IS releasable.
The opposite of that is that a kid can sometimes fall off their horse and be completely unafraid – because they are so athletic I suspect. In those circumstances there is no fear, so they have no fright imprint. Does that make sense? It’s the fear that locks in the fright imprint, not the fall by itself.
Your next lesson, coming tomorrow, is a Quiet Mind exercise specially designed to release fright imprints, specially designed to understand whatever it is that you need to know or do to release those fright imprints and move forwards free from manifesting negatively with that old tension.
And oh my goodness are you going to enjoy the results of that!
