We are looking for a calm, confident and trusting partner.
And we are looking to be able to be a calm and trusting and confident rider to partner our horse.
When this bareback and bridle-less photo of Tammy and Dana was taken, it had been only three weeks earlier that Tammy had been too frightened to ride her horse out of the yard. Don’t worry if this is not one of your goals! 🙂
We’re looking as riders to be safe and secure, with a riding seat that is so stable that we can have a delicate and sensitive and responsive two way conversation with our horse.
Look at the way this horse is carrying herself. Put a top coat and tails on Sandra and she could be a Grand Prix dressage rider stroking her horses neck instead of campdrafting out in the Outback of Australia.
We’re looking for our own special version of that picture of strength and grace and beauty in a horse and the ability to work with our horse with sensitivity and skill and effectiveness – in real harmony. Much used words – not often seen.
We want to be able to problem solve with confidence.
Merlin used to physically attack people and Val’s journey with him was a study in what it means to really listen to a horse and understand what was going on behind the behavior.
There is a testimonial from Sandra and Val in the testimonials link below.
We’re looking for security in the saddle and the ability to move with them, as One when they move – even when things go wrong. Especially when things go wrong…
And wow there is a lot of that to come on Fast Track. These ladies are four days into their journey here – imagine your progress with more than 80 lessons.
We even have a lesson specially designed to re-program our own “oh shit” reactions when things go wrong, so that we can stay with our horse smoothly and effortlessly, so that we can help them out instead of bracing in fearful reaction and getting pinged out of the saddle.
We’re looking to be wise and knowledgeable and competent and confident in our knowledge of our horse.
We want to know things like “how to combine gentleness and strength and fairness and effectiveness”.
We want to know what’s the right thing for THIS HORSE and for ME – from our specific and unique backgrounds – through this whole world of conflicting advice about horses. And oh boy… there is some monumentally conflicting advice out there in the horse industry and a whole lot of it is not useful! I shake my head sometimes…
We’re looking to help our horse be as healthy as they can be.
And we see this consistently – old stress and tension released with this systematic and gentle approach to the horse human relationship and the physical healing that comes from that. Even old horses are not too old…
And we’re looking for a deeper connection with our horse.
Harry the horse was someone else’s very difficult, discarded horse and this photo was taken in Asbrandt’s third lesson with Harry.
Holly bought Random three days before this photo. How would you like to bond this fast?
Or maybe it’s about more routine things, like being able to feed your horse happily and safely. Click here to read Holly’s transformation story about solving her horse’s aggression at feed time.
Or have a happy horse coming to YOU for catching and wanting to be with you.
Just two days earlier it had taken two people boxing Yoshi into a corner to catch him. Here in this photo, they are at liberty together with Yoshi going where Mary wants him to go – no ropes, no nothing – in a big one acre paddock. Click here for the full story.
