The first of these photos is of Oliver as he got off the truck at our house – tucked up and travel sick after a 12 hour trip that should have taken place in a truck specially designed for long distance travel and with two bays in the truck ordered for his giant body. I have a magnet on my fridge with an advertisement for the trucking company with a big black “do not use” written across it.
Oliver had had the best of everything in his old home and yet he was filled with stress and tension, had a very damaged body and behaved so badly that he was given to me with his old owner saying that she thought he had “a screw loose” – that’s an Australian expression for being crazy.
These diaries are the lessons and some of the video footage where applicable, about this delightful and very special horse finding his place in our hearts and bringing us – Steve and I both – so much knowledge and joyfulness.
This is Oliver’s journey, paying special attention to the techniques that we used to help him and us, and the philosophies behind them.
The lessons will be in the Virtual Clinic Classroom for the time being, where we can have a low key, laid back min-clinic with questions and answers and discussion around the lessons. I am working on uploading the 20 lessons+ at the rate of approximately one per week, with some exceptions to be expected.
