“Yep.” That’s one of my dry Aussie understatements in the picture! Trying too hard gets in the way of ease and effortlessness and it doesn’t work either. This work is about dumping that struggling crap, not bringing it here lol!
Let’s check out if Physical Feel is part of your mixture of feeling or not. Today it will take 1 to 2 minutes, but when you practice, you’ll end up able to bring it down to a split second. While you’re reading, slow down and read the following words slowly and deliberately.
Pay gentle attention to your OUTWARD breath for a few breaths.
That’s it… feel me smiling… reading sloooowwww…. and at the same time notice the way that the lower part of your ribs move on that outward breath – the way that the ribs just kind of squash the air from your lungs. And you’re not doing that on purpose, you’re just smiling a little bit and noticing for one breath…

… and another breath…
Still with your gentle attention on your outward breath, notice what changes on the inside of you when you smile with your eyes just a little. Ahhh you can still feel the difference hey? Just notice the effect of that smileyness for a breath.

Here inside you is a place of awareness where you find out whether Physical Feel is a part of your unique way of feeling or not, where you can notice the way you’re breathing… pause and notice the way you’re breathing.
Where you can notice any tension in your body… pause and notice any tension in your body.
Where you can notice any discomfort in your body… pause and notice any discomfort in your body.
Where you can use your smiley curiosity to ask yourself “Whose is it?” and “What do I need to know or do about it?”
Where you can find your own understanding of ALL your feelings as well as the Physical and practice the smiley curiosity about what all those feelings might be telling you about yourself or others…
Whether that understanding flows now.
Or later.
Knowing that there’s no need to try and get the answer – the answer or the understanding or the message about whose it is and what you need to know or do about it, will come when the time is perfect.

Have a wriggle and a stretch and maybe even a walk around the room, feeling the way that your feet are flexing through their whole range of motion as you walk. You might think this exercise was too simple and short to be powerful, but don’t be surprised if you hear the sound of joints realigning.
