Nobody feels like we do and our path to “it” is utterly unique to us too.
First session Monday 11th December
I’d like you to notice that the key to people’s success tonight was a willingness to look at about whatever they were feeling – “good” or “bad”, feeling good or feeling crappy. have fun with this as you take it out to the thing you choose to do with your horse. <3
Thursday 14th Tech check and I took the opportunity to work with Jolene and Andrew.
Lovely sessions both of them. Goosebumps!
Sunday 17th December catching up on one on ones.
Holy snapping turtles, this session knocked MY socks off!
My notes from the first session
I was trying to think of a metaphor to explain how incredibly different we all are – not just in our Feel, but in what we want with our horse, what part of the puzzle of life we’ve put into place so far, which pieces are still to slide into place, which are easy within reach.
This is why it’s so important not to compare ourselves to others. We’re comparing apples to artichokes (and we’re the one that is whatever we like most). Copying others is what leads to that horrible “I am not enough” feeling, because we CAN’T copy someone else successfully – it’s our INTERNAL guidance system.
When we say we celebrate our differences here, we really do more than that – we celebrate our different paths to those differences too.

And it’s our FEEL that gets us there to what we want. Feel is our inner guidance system that literally guides us to what we want to change or what we want to create.
Let’s pause for a moment and feel into that statement.
“Feel is our Inner Guidance system that literally guides us to what we want with our horse and in our lives.”
The Magic Questions:
- Whose feeling is it? Because we share a connection with each other through our common life force and we can use that connection with our horse to achieve, to change, to create what we want.
- What do we need to know or do about that feeling? Is there something we need to DO, an action to take for ourselves or for our horse? Or is there something we need to know or understand about ourselves or our horse? You’ll hear me asking “is it true or what’s the truth here?” a LOT, because a truth that comes from the INSIDE of you is a foundation built on rock, whereas MY truth or anyone else’s truth can only inspire you, but it falls down when the pressure is on. That’s one of the reasons we struggle.
- Has that feeling all gone yet? It’s very common when we get some relief with an ahhaa moment, to ignore the “still feeling crappy”, because it doesn’t feel quite so crappy any more.
- How does this feeling fit with your dream, your goal, what you’re wanting to change or create? We often don’t need to know the answer to this question, I think of it as a “tuck in the back of your mind” kind of question, that can help us understand why we experience our feelings.
Now here’s the thing.
Is all that true or is it crap?
Keeping in mind that all of us are where we’re at in that jigsaw of life, perfectly and differently to everyone else, so as I work with each of you, we’re probably going to be doing things differently with each of you too.
One on one:
Think of something to do with your horse that is a step towards what you want from this Feel clinic. Then I’ll work with each person, using that to get more conscious with your Feel.
After the one on ones:
I’m working over Christmas this year. Is anyone interested in doing something over the holiday period? On what subject/s
A bit more info about problem solving with the five ways of feeling
You’ll have your unique mixture of the five ways of feeling and the MIXTURE that you’re experiencing is more important than its parts. You can just read this webpage that described the different ways of feeling so you can keep your eye out for them as part of the MIXTURE that you’ll be uniquely experiencing. If you have time, there’s also an unedited 2 hour audio seminar that you can listen to on your phone. If you have Facebook Messenger on your phone, you can copy and paste this link into your Messenger or to your email if you have that on your phone.
Please don’t do the Quiet Mind while you’re driving!!!!
Seminar on feel good problem solving – February 2022
Before anything else, take some photos of your horse
Take photos from both sides, with your horse pretty much filling the frame of the camera. Also from the front and from behind. I’d like a nice head photo too please.
You’re taking these photos because it’s lovely to compare the physical before and after as well as the mental emotional and behavioral.
Between now and the next session on 14th January
Think of something to do with your horse that is a step towards what you want from this Feel clinic. Email me and tell me what you think might be the steps towards that thing that you want to do. I might suggest making those steps into baby steps. Then between now and the 14th January:
- Remember that the task comes second to feeling good.
- Really get clear in your mind that you and your horse both feeling good is more important than the task.
- It’s not the task that’s important, it’s noticing your Feel AND ACTING ON IT by stopping and retreating for you new folk and waiting until your horse has licked and chewed or yawned and stretched to tell you they’re ready for the next step forwards. Advanced folk might pause and feel into your breathe or heartbeat or energy and have the insight come in faster, but if it doesn’t, then you too will be physically stepping away and waiting for the lick and chew that tells you that your horse is ready for the next step.
- Do not get hung up on the task. It’s not important.
- Your FEEL is the thing that makes it possible for you and your horse to be together without stress and tension – with BOTH of you feeling good.
- Have I said that in as many ways as possible for it to really sink in? Your Feel IS your relationship with your horse and it’s more important than the task.
What to do:
Your intention throughout this clinic is to understand your horse and you’ll be doing that by first noticing and then using your Feel for them to take some kind of action that supports them and you to feel good in whatever it is that you’ve chosen to do.
- Advanced students or new… Before you step into your horse’s space, start with some breath work, heartbeat, allowing yourself to notice all the ways that you feel inside yourself. Even you advanced folk might like to get more and more Present by doing this Quiet Mind before you start, because you’re tuning yourself up to go deeper. I’m suggesting that you do this Quiet Mind outside the paddock or field, stable or barn and within sight of your horse if you can.
Journey to Feel Day 2 as a gift
2. What you’ve done with that Quiet Mind is to notice how YOU feel inside yourself. Now notice how YOU feel inside yourself as you look at your horse. Notice everything that changes, soak it up – smile and appreciate the heck out of your ability to notice those changes whether they’re subtle or big.
3. Think about this task that you would like to do during your Feel clinic. Allow your mind to wander around each step of the task, feeling anything that changes within you. Even though this is an exercise at this stage and you’re not actually doing anything yet, if you feel less than really good, THINK of yourself taking a few steps away to allow the understanding of WHY you felt crappy, to flow. And wait for your horse to lick and chew or yawn and stretch, no matter how long it takes. If that takes a while, stop for at least a day and allow your horse and yourself to process what happened.
If it just feels “neutral”, that’s less than feeling really good for the purpose of this exercise.
4. Soak up EVERY SINGLE good feeling. Stay in it as long as you can and appreciate the heck out of your horse, because that will anchor that good feeling into your new normal.
5. Once it feels good to THINK about doing the task you’ve chosen, then you can start taking walking towards your horse to do this task.
Keep going when it continues to feel good. When it doesn’t feel good, back off and wait for your horse to lick and chew. Depending on the circumstances, that might mean backing to the end of the rope, going back to the paddock or barn and taking the halter off, getting off – whatever it takes to take the pressure off.
If it takes a long time for them to lick and chew you might want to stop for the day and allow the healing process that will happen from the release of stress and tension.
6. ACT on your Feel – take action on every single little feeling that is less than feeling good – and that includes doubting yourself. If you’re doubting whether something feels good or not, then treat that the same as feeling crappy – stop and take steps backwards, or take the halter off or get off or whatever step is taking the pressure off your horse in this task and wait for them to lick and chew. Play the meditation again if you need to.
ACTING when you feel less than good is the absolute key. There’s no point in developing your Feel if you’re not actually using it, you’ll just Feel more and more crappy. ACTING when you’re doubting whether that subtle feeling is what we’ve been talking about – that too is a key. You’ll know when you’re feeling good.
7. Maybe you’ll achieve all the baby steps to that thing that you chose to do for this clinic – maybe you won’t get all the way, maybe there’s something else big to do on the 14th January. But however far you get, your relationship with your horse is governed by ACTING on your Feel and YOUR RELATIONSHIP IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE TASK.
