Helen Davies, L.Ac., ESMT Practice: Helen’s Hands, LLC Descrip: 16 years experience in Equine & Equestrian Sports Massage Therapies, with 8 years Traditional Chinese Acupuncture & Herbal Medcine.
My clients include a variety of disciplines – Dressage, Hunters, Jumpers, Eventing, Barrel Racers, Western Pleasure, Trail…etc.
I believe a comfortable athlete is a happier & stronger athlete…more willing to do the hard work that their showing/discipline demands.
Prevention is better than cure, and it’s quite amazing how often pointing out various “troubles” or “hot-spots”, can alleviate a whole set ofproblems, that can generally be resolved with little downtime or great costs. It’s a priviledge to work with such powerful, yet sensitive creatures…and I’m always amazed by their generous responses to the bodywork…and how delighted their owners/riders/trainers are to have a more flowing and effective ride.
I love problem solving…and that’s oft the case, as we all know…”horses do stuff…”, !
Working out knots/kinks of tired overworked muscles, to leg and foot issues, to tempremental mares, to assisting the rehab of a strained suspensary etc…it’s all in a good days work….
I also work with a variety of “geriatric” horses, ponies & donkeys…helping maintain a level of comfort as they battle athritis, laminitis, cushings, colic episodes etc…Along with sound veterinary diagnostics and care, careful management of teeth, tack & feet….as well as a thoughtful training regamine, these supplementary methods of “Whole Horse Care”, go a long way to getting these “sturdy steeds”….back on track.
