Welcome to Day 5
Take this adapted meditation from yesterday out to your horse with your mobile device and in the presence of your horse, or other special animal that you have chosen for today, practice the Reverse Breathing that is so good for your health, your riding and your way of being with your horse – with those soft, smiling ahhh… eyes that allow things to happen rather than trying to make them happen. You could keep your eyes open and pay gentle attention to your horse’s breathing while you’re doing this.
Keys to Success
1. I imagine that you’re starting to get the idea of how big a deal it is to have those soft smiling ahhh eyes that allow things to flow, rather than trying to make things happen. Whether it’s about feelings or thoughts or energy, allowing things to flow to understanding, is perhaps the biggest key to success.
2. The single biggest key to escalating ourselves into feeling good is being in that place of inner awareness when we soak up and appreciate any good feelings that we experience, allowing our attention to wander all over our body – noticing how it feels. It is the combination of feeling good and being in that state of inner awareness that anchors feeling good into our new way of being – our new “normal”.
3. Remember that our horse may stay with us while we meditate – or they may need to be further away. There are all kinds of good reasons for our horse to not visibly join in with our meditation and stand close by – none of which are about rejecting us. Sometimes they have something of their own going on that means they need us to bring the Quieter Mind to them – later. Sometimes our energy is so high as we work out some of our layers to a Quiet Mind, that they need a bit of distance to cope. Whether they stay close to us or need a bit of distance, all of that is absolutely perfect.

Download today’s meditation (from the Lesson Resources below) onto your mobile device and take it out to your horse. Listen to the meditation whilst sitting with your horse – you could also keep your eyes open and pay gentle attention to their breathing too.
