Prior to 911, multiple people in my circle of acquaintances had been reporting dreams of planes flying into buildings (yep, THAT clear and MONTHS before) and so many other folk were reporting all kinds of unusually gloomy feelings.
Personally, I was oblivious. I remember sitting in the car at the front gate of our farm when I heard the first reporting of 911 on Australian radio. I thought it was some kind of radio program like War of the Worlds. I spent the next three days glued to the TV, alternately shocked, crying, angry and incredibly sad.
I was already far into my healing journey and knew the power of our minds to hurt as well as heal.
We ARE One and that’s the point of my blog today. In our One-ness, my state of being was having an effect on everything around me. So back in 2001, when I was rippling shock and horror and anger out into the world, that was all I was doing. I’m not making myself wrong either. It was an experience of shock and horror and anger – feelings that needed to be felt and experienced. That experience led me to an insight on how we could do it differently.
I hear there’s a lot of beautiful folk who are right now feeling gloomy or anxious or worried something terrible is going to happen or even having vivid dreams or visions of terrible things…
What if this could be an opportunity to understand those feelings and release them ahead of time – for the best outcome possible? Instead of being shocked and escalating everyone around us like I did all those years ago, do we have the opportunity to feel whatever feelings are brought up by the worries and the dreams, to deal with them, to use them to see the big picture and the perfect outcome AHEAD of time and radiate THAT peacefulness and love out into the world?
I’m not talking about diminishing these feelings or ignoring them or making them wrong – they are an incredibly important part of our inner guidance system. I’m talking about understanding them, getting our guidance AHEAD of time, finding our peacefulness and love AHEAD of time and radiating THAT out into the world.
Let’s talk about this in the comments!
Today’s picture is one of Catherine Clark-Dowden’s gorgeous artworks. This one is a Prosperpine Wallaby. You can find her here.

This unusual webbook is perfect for understanding these gloomy feelings, vivid dreams and visions and for finding the peacefulness that comes from understanding them.
Here’s an interesting article in THE GUARDIAN along the lines of yours above : https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2025/aug/31/happy-sympathy-world-pain.
