I need to get my act into gear and finish organizing Noora’s clinic, which I am so much looking forward to. Ahh well if you want something done, ask a busy person!
I am hosting a clinic with the extraordinary Finnish girl Noora Ehnqvist 6th – 9th January and if you are familiar with how particular I am, you’ll know how special Noora must be.
How to describe Noora? She NAILS whatever is going on behind a horse’s behavior or problems and really cuts through to the heart of the matter for big changes in both horses and people in these very small, very private boutique clinics. The gentleness of this young woman is extraordinary and the way that she holds people and horses for stress free learning is just lovely.
Body work and inner awareness for the rider’s progress is an important feature of Noora’s clinics. Fence sitters get to participate in the body work/awareness exercises and because of this, must be there from the first day.
Noora has a broadly classical dressage approach to her horsemanship, with ground work that prepares a horse for lovely work in the saddle and which is appropriate to every horse discipline.
There are two rider positions left at a cost of $650, which includes the hire of the lovely undercover arena here. Your place is only confirmed by the receipt of $250 non refundable deposit, with the balance due before the clinic starts.
Because of the high participation rate for fence sitters, fence sitting is limited and must be booked too with a deposit of $100. Fence sitters cost is $250 for the four days and because they learn and experience so much each day, fence sitters can only attend from the first day without disrupting the class. Noora says “The people without horses are actually also in a big learning part in the clinic because they can participate in all discussions, body awareness exercises and learn by observing”.
Staying here at our house for a clinic is a lovely special event, both during the clinic and with the conviviality of after hours, bringing and cooking good food for each other and sharing stories and experiences – only if you don’t mind sleeping on mattresses on the floor, we generally have people sleeping everywhere!
Accommodation is available here at our place, for the cost of your power and water. There is also what I am told is an excellent caravan park nearby if you are looking for quiet and restfulness after the clinic.
If you REALLY want to go all out treating yourself, the luxurious five star fantasy Bed and Breakfast Mira Mira is just down the road – complete with a Hobbit cave, a giant shoe and princess’s castle.
Bobby and I once got into trouble on the trail out the back of Mira Mira and had to creep through their grounds, clip clopping through that lovely forest trying to act like gnomes who belonged there.
There is also camping available next door with hot showers and a toilet if we run out of floor space here and you could still join in with the meals here if you wanted to. Ask me if you need camping prices, I’ll have to check them out with Sue who also has horse yards available at $10 per day.
This is a very special opportunity. If you can get to this clinic, you won’t want to miss it. Email me jenny@jennypearce.com.au to organize a place.
