Look what I found!

I found a small treasure trove of first editions of Bobby’s Diaries that got “lost” in our move to Rokeby.  These are a serious collectible, with only 100 of them in that first print run and it turns out that a lucky few of you can still own one of them. 🙂

Gosh I’m smiling – this horse dragged me along, way ahead of our time – long before there came a movement to a new gentleness and consideration for the horse.   You can read about how this incredibly talented and gobsmackingly difficult horse got me to realize that I could actually “hear” him, how I wrote the book from all the little black notebooks that I carried in my pocket while we rode and taught clinics together – everything that he “told me” about horsemanship and riding over a two year period.  Mannn… I progressed at warp speed over that two years!

Back in those days I actually had this Master Teacher standing loose in a clinic and he would walk over (sometimes run!) and help the horses – crikey I can tell some stories about the things that he did!

We’re a lot gentler and more sensitive with our Feel these days, but Bobby’s roadmap to a happy horse came straight from his mind to mine and is still valid today.  There’s fifteen of these books left.

Zen Connection with Horses

I found a box of Zen Connection with Horses in the same place – the ones with the actual audio cd of lessons in a plastic sleeve in the back of the book.  It makes me smile to think about how ground breaking both these two books were and still are.  That audio lesson thing had never been done before in the horse world.
