Ahhh my old friend the Magic Questions. You can thank the horses for this concept that literally changed my life and made their lives a lot happier too. Peace on earth started in our barnyard!
When we don’t understand the natural connectedness of all of us, it’s natural to assume that the tension or restriction of breathing that we’re feeling is ours, to assume that the anxiety or fear is ours, to assume that the aches and pains are ours, to assume that the explosive stuck energy is ours, to assume that the worries and the anguish is ours.
But we are naturally connected to each other and everything we feel is not always ours – you’ll see over the next few pages that there’s good reason for that.
I developed what I call the Magic Questions to help us understand:
- Whose feelings are they? Mine or someone else’s?
- What does my inner guidance system, what does my soul want me to KNOW or DO about myself or this other being?
- Is there any feeling left that needs me to keep asking the above two questions until the feeling is all gone?
- And sometimes it’s good to know “How does this fit with creating or changing what I care deeply about?”
In the early days I used to literally walk around asking myself these questions about every big feeling I was having, but these days I mostly flow with the subtleties of them effortlessly in the moment.
Today’s photo has been cleverly curated by Caithe Hodges. The picture reminds me that this “feeling our connection to others” thing is that clear.
