When we’ve pushed fear and frustration and grief and whatever else down long enough for the anger to well up in us and then suppressed that anger as well, if it doesn’t explode into rage, it turns into resentment. A deep, damaging to ourselves resentment that will eventually cause physical ill health. By the time we’re feeling resentment, we are seriously blaming the other person for OUR OWN feelings – blaming someone else for OUR OWN Inner Guidance system.
Not only are we making ourselves sick with this resentment, we’re seriously blocking our ability to joyfully create what we care most deeply about.
Now don’t get me wrong – if the resentment is triggered by someone else’s behavior, this way of looking at things doesn’t make the other person’s behavior right, nor am I suggesting that we should ignore it – there IS something to know or do about it. When our understanding unlocks that feeling of fierce open hearted love – the Heart Anger that I’ve been talking about – then this kind of anger literally drives the change to a better world.
Whether the anger and resentment is ours or whether we’re picking up on another’s anger because there’s something to know or do FOR or ABOUT them, these are OUR feelings, OUR inner guidance system, OURS to understand, OURS to deal with, OURS to find our power and our Truth with and OUR capacity to create something better that has the power of the universe behind it and within us and the infinite possibilities that come with that.
This is literally the stuff of miracles.
Wowww…
Are you CURIOUS to know if all that’s really true?
Photo: Did you know that it’s just about impossible for horses to carry resentment? I’ll explain why not and why that makes them the most magnificent of creatures on a live event some day. This gorgeous and incredibly wise looking creature was photographed by Michelle Brannan of Perth.
