I want to share with you a student’s story about healing her high blood pressure with her horse, that might just help to explain to people why we are so passionate about horses and their welfare.
Catherine came into our programs here with Bumblebee looking for solutions to his disturbing aggression and biting. She’s on two of our on line programs. I just love that not only does Bumblebee not yell at her any more with that behavior, he’s actually stepped into a place so relaxed that he can help HER to heal her high blood pressure.
I just adore this work… Here’s our exchange of emails today.
Catherine:
I wanted to share with you my day today after my crap few weeks just gone. I have too many hats to wear in life at present and my stress levels are not good, especially because I take on others feelings too and realised I wasn’t asking the questions, so hence I was accumulating layers of feelings. Anyway my blood pressure went through the roof a few weeks ago and I have a machine for the week to check it twice daily…plus I have just got over shingles on my right eye !….
BUT…. today was the day that I decided that I needed to focus on me ….I was having a bad day so I was watching your live stream about the brumbies …had me in tears ….and it was then I just went F… it ! So I turned everything off except I listened to some of the zen audios of yours as a lay with my legs up a wall to destress …and then I did the ‘Journey to feel 9’ …when I imagined BB in my mind. My body felt so warm ….. I went outside and there he was waiting at the gate.
I walked up and he sniffed my hand and chewed!… So I asked if he wanted to go for a walk around the garden to eat the grass, he chewed. I got the halter and he put his nose in and we spent the next hour roaming the garden and enjoying each other’s company. He would be grazing and then lift his head and put his head toward me to sniff my hand ,as if checking in and then would gently go back to grazing.
It was a wonderful time Jenny and when I came up to the house I took my blood pressure.
And it was perfect.
Today has really made me realise that life IS too short not to smell the roses and that I am so very blessed to have BB here .
Thank you. Warm Regards Catherine x
Jenny:
Ohhh lovely heart-open laughter at this Catherine. It’s SUCH a fabulous story I wanna share it and have EVERYONE taking such proactive steps for their health! Are you up for that? I’d intro it and just set this email out for easy reading?
Catherine:
Oh Jenny, yes I’m fine with that …. it was such an amazing day … and this morning’s conversations with him were just as wonderful!…. and blood pressure – perfect!!
thanks so much.
Jenny summing up:
MEASURABLE healing, brought to her by the grace of her horse, who had actually been in a pretty “bad” place not that long ago. This story is a timely reminder of WHY we are so passionate about our horses and WHY we are soooo… passionate about our wild horses too who – even in the wild, when they are relaxed and not fearing for their lives – can lower and even out our heart rates, slow our breathing down and lower our blood pressure.
