There’s a reason for all these “holyshitsisittrue”s. It’s because your happiness depends on you knowing and experiencing what’s TRUE OR NOT, FOR YOURSELF.
Whether it’s your emotions or the other feelings that are part of your natural talent for feeling your connection to others, my words can inspire you that there IS an easier way of being, that there IS an answer to even the biggest and most complex life problems – but those answers have to come from the inside of YOU, from the connection to your own soul, for them to flow easily and effortlessly and to be a foundation for happiness that’s available to you whenever you need it.
Here’s a 30 second exercise that will take you to the inner part of yourself. You could practice while you’re reading it today?
Please don’t be misled by the simplicity of this exercise to feel an inner smile. The whole inner “get rid of the struggling”, feel good, inner guidance thing IS simple, when we allow all that complicated crap to drop away.
Slow down and read the following words slowly and deliberately. Pay gentle attention to your OUTWARD breath for a few breaths.
That’s it… feel me smiling… reading sloooowwww…. and at the same time notice the way that the lower part of your ribs move on that outward breath – the way that the ribs just kind of squash the air from your lungs. And you’re not doing that on purpose, you’re just smiling and noticing for a breath. Still reading slooowwww…

Still on your outward breath, notice all the things that change on the inside of your body when you smile with your eyes just a little.
Ahhh that’s interesting isn’t it? Just notice the effect of smileyness for a breath.

Here inside you is a place of peaceful awareness where your own Truth about ALL your feelings resides, where your own understanding and your own answers to ALL your feelings can flow more easily. Here inside you is a place of peaceful awareness where you can find and practice the smiley curiosity.
You’re not looking for anything, or doing anything, you’re just paying gentle attention to what that smiley curiosity feels like.

When you’ve finished, walk around the room for a bit, smiling still, feeling the flex of your feet on the floor. I know this was a simple exercise at feeling the power of our inner smile, but don’t be surprised if you feel joints moving into place.
