I am roaring with laughter here this morning and I hope you’ll be laughing at my sense of humor too. K said to tell you that she hit a place in her Fast Track program that was like “Christmas and Easter and your birthday happening all at once to a child. Or an org… asm in happiness” “Sorry for my bluntness” she said with laughter, “that is for adults only”.
I had asked her yesterday to describe what she had just experienced with her horse to someone who has no frame of reference to understand the depths of something that they have never experienced and that quote was what she came back with. She was talking about what had happened when she and her horse were exploring a new way of communication for a simple back-up.
And that joy? That org… asm in happiness? HER HORSE was experiencing that too.
Think about what a big deal that was – they were experiencing that depth of happiness TOGETHER. It’s not about us teaching them or us doing it to them – the mutuality of it is just freaking awesome.
See… People look at fancy things being done with horses – where the horse and person are doing whatever it is that’s your idea of a perfect picture together and they think THAT is what they want. I hate to break it to you – it’s not that picture at the end of the journey that you really want – it’s the expansive joy of real communication with your horse happening EVERY STEP OF THE WAY that K has just discovered with such happiness that she used the “o’ word. (I’m using all kinds of euphemisms to avoid my website getting picked up by people looking for something else!)
Way back over ten years ago I had a double world champion reining rider make just that point – spectacularly. She said her two world championships were EMPTY. She said that the feeling she got solving a problem with a difficult horse in a lesson with me was better than any world championship. EMPTY… Who would have thought that reaching such an incredible goal as a double world championship was EMPTY? Kristine wanted other people to benefit from her experience, so she shared it in a blog here.
The richness that every experience with our horse can be – the feeling that runs within us when we hit that exact strettttttttched moment where we help our horse to understand and release some old trauma or fear or resistance – and where they help us to understand and release some old trauma or fear or resistance – the on-going reciprocity of a real relationship – mannn you’ve got to go hunting for some special words to describe it!
I’m still chortling away here this morning. If you want some of K’s expression of the org…a$mic happiness that she and her horse were experiencing, here’s some ways to get it:
Fast Track to Brilliant Riding – that’s the program K is in the middle of – I’ve still haven’t finished upgrading the video quality, so those incredibly valuable 90+ lessons with a lifetime of access and joy are only $1500.
Ease and Grace – or if you like things private, Ease and Grace is a fully mentored, private program that’s tailored specifically and individually to the needs and goals of each person and their horse. It’s world class and incredibly enjoyable horsemanship (and that statement stands no matter whether you’re a novice or a world champion). It’s understanding and using our connection with others for a whole new dimension in healing for ourselves and our horses (including PTSD and recovering from burnout), using our connection with others for healing and excellence in teaching, finding ease in difficult relationships and even life coaching where appropriate – $10,000 for six glorious months.
Still laughing… Bring a little org… a$mic happiness into YOUR day!

Today’s photo: A horse (or ten), plenty of hay in the shed and a good man doing some of the hard work – what’s not to be incredibly happy about?
