This is the stuff beautiful movies are made of. We have a chance to be involved in one of the most inspiring and largest horse rescues ever undertaken in Australia. 600 desert brumbies in the Northern Territory were going to be shot from helicopters and now most of them are going into sanctuary FOREVER and the rest will be a herd managed with Aj’s expert guidance. The money we’re raising is for the trucking from where they are, to the sanctuary.
AJ has put the best part of a year and her heart and soul into this project which has the capacity to change the way brumbies are managed in Australia.
This is the same AJ who I wrote about in the blog “The wild horses – it’s like touching the very fabric of existence”. She is a truly gifted horsewoman. The wild horses are going to be quietly drafted the way AJ’s grandfather taught her all those years ago. Mares and foals WON’T be separated. Everything is being done the way we wish it would ALWAYS be done – with love for the wild ones.
The brumby story in Australia has been filled with fight and struggle and desperation and tears and heartbreak. This is a chance to be involved in a change to something incredibly positive and uplifting – a chance to have happy tears instead.
It’s all happening and it’s time for us to share the joy in it by giving her some money – large or small – to get the job done. The specially set up charity fund ‘s bank account is in the picture.
Gosh I’ve got happy tears already!

Very sorry if I’m missing something obvious, but see no link and was unable to find a website/FB page for National Brumby Rescue Inc. (using Google). Can U.S. residents donate to this group, hopefully via credit card, as the bank info alone doesn’t seem to be helpful? Thanks for sharing this wonderful news, Jenny!

No you didn’t miss it Chris. We’re trying to organise a way for overseas people to contribute too. <3
