We’re going to take a breather for a few pages and talk about some physical things that lift our vitality – some of you might like to take some time to percolate and process what we’ve talked about already – specially those things that actually get in the way of us creating what we most care about – because then I’m going to really knock your socks off.
So here’s a bit of light relief – bad fish oil sucks.
We’ve been told and told how good Omega 3 fats are for the brain and as an anti-inflammatory, but did you know that Omega 3’s actually decrease “bad” cholesterol too? Hmmm… decrease it enough that you’ll have to get the doctor to recheck whether you even need that cholesterol medication anymore. 🙂
And did you know that vast amounts of fish oil capsules (supposed to be a source of Omega 3) are actually rancid and acting against your body?
Ok sunshine – I dare you… I just dare you to bite into that fish oil capsule and taste it – and if it tastes rancid and blech! (that’s the sound of something ghastly and your mouth puckering up and your tongue hanging out), it’s adding to your toxic burden instead of doing any good at all – so use it for greasing some machinery instead.
Personally I find vegetable sources of Omega 3’s are much more reliable, but then I live in a country where the inside of the truck transporting the goods can get very hot and damage the oil easily. Chia seeds (I make a dessert that is just delicious from chia, coconut milk and frozen raspberries) cold pressed olive oil and even olives if they float your boat (gee my Aussie expressions are running amok tonight – that means if you really, really like them).
Omega 3’s increase everyone’s vitality – plus they are an essential part of treating depression.
This photo I’m laughingly interpreting as “blech” – tongue hanging out, hoping that the air will change the taste of something yucky. Gorgeous photo of a happy dog taken by the very talented Michelle Brannan from Finding Grace Photography in Perth. 🙂
